1950-S 1¢ WRPM-061

Description: S/S West

Die Markers: Obverse: Numerous N-S die scratches show throughout much of the obverse. Strong concentric die scratches show at the rim around much of the obverse. Fine concentric die scratches show on the front of the beard and mouth area. Strong N-S die scratches show at the back of the neck to the left and upper left of the Y in LIBERTY. A grouping of N-S die scratches shows SE of the eye. Several die scratches run North above the ERTY in LIBERTY, with two divergent NE/NW ones crossing one and a half letter widths North of the T in LIBERTY forming and inverted V. Reverse: Many NNW-SSE die scratches show throughout much of the central reverse. A strong NNW-SSE die scratch shows inside the lower left opening of the C in CENT. Several die scratches run SSE from below the O in ONE, with the left ones grazing between the upper right corner of the C in CENT and the right ones grazing the upper left corner of the E in CENT. Comments: John Bordner originally had two die stages listed as WRPM-061. The original Stage A mintmark was shown to be further east and rotated slightly clockwise with weaker doubling than the Stage B die.  The original Stage B has been relisted as WRPM-071, as it was found to be a duplicate of that die.
