1950 50¢ Pr WDDO-001

Description:  A spread toward the center shows on LIBERTY, IGWT, the date, the designer's initials, the bust, the eyelid, the back of the hair and the lower hair curls.  A second hubbing shows tripling on TRUST, the 5 of the date and RTY of LIBERTY.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Light die gouge between the W and E of WE toward the top.  Reverse:  Die gouge below the underside of the horizontal bar of the F in HALF toward the left.  N/S die gouge near the rim below the right side of the F in HALF.  Large die chip inside the A of HALF on the left lower side.  Die chip on the underside of the horizontal bar and centered of the A in HALF.

1950 50¢ Pr WDDO-002

Description:  A spread towards the center can be found on the date, IGWT, and LIBERTY.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die gouge can be found on the lower right R in TRUST.  A die crack runs north from the rim passing through the right side of the D in GOD.  Reverse:  The reverse is a doubled die listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1950 50¢ Pr WDDR-002.  It shows Class VI extra thickness spread towards the center on EPU, USA, and HALF DOLLAR.  A die gouge can be found to the left of the top of the U in UNITED.  A diagonal die scratch can be found on the eagle’s right leg.

1950 50¢ WDDR-001

Description:  A spread towards the center shows on EPU, USA, the lower right tail feathers, and HALF DOLLAR.  The strongest spread is on the lower half of the reverse.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A small die gouge can be found above the S in TRUST.  Reverse:  A small die gouge can be found above the left side of the first U in UNUM.

Description:  Extra thickness spread towards the center shows on EPU, USA, and HALF DOLLAR.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  The obverse is a doubled die listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1950 50¢ Pr WDDO-002.  A die gouge can be found on the lower right R in TRUST.  A die crack runs north from the rim passing through the right side of the D in GOD.  Reverse:  A die gouge can be found to the left of the top of the U in UNITED.  A diagonal die scratch can be found on the eagle’s right leg.

1950 50¢ WDDR-003

Description: Extra thickness on EPU, USA, HALF DOLLAR, and the outer parts of the bell.

Die Markers: Obverse: NW/SE die scratch through the 1 in the date. Old NE/SW die scratch at the throat. NW/SE die scratches above the date and in front of the face. Strong NW/SE die scratch from the designer's initials JRS to the W in WE. E/W die scratch right of the B in LIBERTY. Die gouge midway between the I in IN and the back of the head. Die gouge above the OD in GOD. Die gouge in the upper opening of the R in TRUST. Reverse: Strong N/S die scratches between EPU and the bell. Strong N/S die scratches right of the bell supports and between the eagle and the last A in AMERICA. NW/SE die scratches through STATES OF. E/W die scratch through the D in UNITED. Thin die scratch N from the H in HALF. Thin NW/SE die scratches through the D in DOLLAR and the clapper. Die gouge above the first L in DOLLAR.
