Description:  A Class V CCW spread from a pivot at about 11:00 shows on the date, the designer’s initials, IGWT, and the hair lines on the lower back of the head.

Description:  A strong spread to the east shows on the lips and forehead.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Numerous N/S die scratches can be found to the left of and to the right of Roosevelt’s head.  Reverse:  N/S die scratches run through the E in EPU.

1964 10¢ WDDR-001          “Best Of” Variety

Description:  A very strong spread CW from a pivot at about 8:00 shows on the USA, ONE DIME, the right dot, EPU, the stem of the olive branch, nearly all elements of the oak branch, and the flame.  The strongest spread is on the right half of the reverse.

Die Markers:  Obverse Stage A: N/S scratch between the I and N of IN.  Die scratch north from the upper chin that intersects another scratch forming an inverted V.  Three N/S scratches behind the lips.  Gouge below the vertical bar of the E in LIBERTY.  Obverse Stage B: Stage A markers still present.  Obverse Stage C: Stage A markers still present.  Light die crack from the right upper curve of the B in LIBERTY, north to the rim.  Obverse Stage D: Die crack now runs through the B of LIBERTY and faintly curves toward the nose.  Obverse Stage E: Die crack through the B of LIBERTY to the nose is very heavy.  Reverse Stage A: Die scratch north from the left upper side of the E in ONE to the left leg of the R in PLURIBUS.  X-shaped die scratch below the B of PLURIBUS.  Reverse Stage B: Die scratch from the lower inside center of the E in STATES, SSE to the flame.  Reverse Stage C: Short die crack from the rim at 7:00 to the right center of the O in ONE.  Reverse Stage D: Die crack now runs through the O of ONE where a second die crack begins to form from the right upper side of the O in ONE.  Series of N/S die scratches to the left of the O in OF.  Reverse Stage E: Die crack through the O in ONE very heavy.  Second die crack from the O in ONE now runs to the first U in PLURIBUS.  A new die crack at 3:15 runs through the right lower area of the C in AMERICA to the right lower oak leaves.  A die crack from the rim at 2:00 runs SW through the upper left area of the M in AMERICA and to the center.  A die crack beginning at the upper right area of the M in AMERICA runs irregular east through ERI and turns toward the rim above the C.

Description:  Class I CW spread on USA, EPU, ONE DIME.  The strongest spread is on the left half of the reverse.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Blunt tail 9.  N/S die scratches on the entire field.  N/S die scratches in front of the eye.  N/S die scratches behind the ear.  NE/SW die scratches above the bust.  Reverse:  N/S die scratches in the field more concentrated toward the branches and torch holder.

1964 10¢ WDDR-003          “Best Of” Variety

Description:  Class I CCW spread on USA, EPU, the flames at the top of the torch, the outer most oak leaves, and ONE DIME.  The strongest spread is on the right half of the reverse.

Die Markers:  Obverse Stage A:  Blunt tail 9.  Strong die clash marks on the upper part of the nose.  Obverse Stage B:  New obverse die.  Blunt tail 9.  SSW/NNE die scratch scratch to the right of and below the 2nd T in TRUST.  Other die scratches can be found throughout the obverse.  Obverse Stage C:  Same as Stage B.  Reverse Stage A:  A short die gouge extends WSW from the inside of the lower right leg of the A in STATES.  Numerous fine N/S die scratches run throughout the reverse.  Reverse Stage B:  A die gouge can be found between the upper D and I in DIME.  Heavier die scratches run throughout the reverse.  Reverse Stage C:  Tripled die clash marks run through the PLU of PLURIBUS.

Description:  A spread towards the center shows on USA, ONE DIME, and the NUM of UNUM.  The strongest spread is on the right half of the reverse.
