In the following listings the person listed as "Submitted By" is the person who sent the coin for listing in the Wexler Doubled Die Files.  It is not necessarily the person who originally discovered the variety.


2009 1¢ EC WDDR-134

Description:  Extra log ends can be found to the right of the top of log end #7, to the right of the bottom of log end #9, and to the right of the center of log end #9.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A light die scratch runs from SW to NE through the bottom of the T in LIBERTY.  A small die gouge (dot) can be found above the 9 in the date.  A die crack runs from SW to NE through the hair on the upper back of the head.  A pre-die crack depression runs NW from the eyebrow into the forehead.  A pre-die crack depression runs from NW to SE on the upper front of the forehead.  Reverse:  A small die gouge (dot) can be found between the C and E in CENT.

2009 1¢ EC WDDR-135

Description:  Doubling can be found below and to the right of log end #9.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die gouge can be found to the left of the top of the G in GOD.  A small die gouge (dot) can be found between the bottoms of the G and O in GOD.  A die crack runs NW through the eyebrow and curves NNW into the forehead.  A die crack runs from NW to SE on the upper front of the forehead.  A die crack runs from NE to SW through the bowtie and then curves south into the vest.  Reverse:  A small die gouge (dot) can be found to the left of the bottom of the 1st A in AMERICA.

2009 1¢ EC WDDR-136

Description:  Doubling can be found above log end #7.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die scratch runs ENE from the bottom right of the E in LIBERTY to the lower left R.  Two die cracks run from SW to NE through the hair on the upper back of the head.  A die chip can be found near the upper end of the die crack further to the left.  A die crack runs NW through the eyebrow and curves NNW into the forehead with two die chips on the die crack just above the eyebrow.  A die crack runs from north to south through the beard.  A die crack runs from NNE to SSW through the left side of the bowtie and then curves south into the vest.  Reverse:  A die scratch runs south from the bottom right of the R in AMERICA.  A die crack runs WNW from the bottom left of the J in JL.

Description:  A very close Class II spread towards the center shows on UNUM as well as on the right wheat ear and stem.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  None significant.  Reverse:  A short, vertical die gouge can be found to the right of the top of the N in UNUM.  A small die gouge can be found below the left side of the U in UNITED.

1957 1¢ Pr WDDR-013

Description:  A close spread towards the center shows on EPU, the dots, and both upper wheat ears.  Extra thickness shows on both wheat stems.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A small die gouge can be found to the right of the center of the D in GOD.  Die pitting can be found to the left of the lower W in WE.  Reverse:  A short, diagonal die scratch can be found to the right of the lower 2nd S in STATES.

Description:  A Class II spread towards the center shows on EPU, the dots, and both upper wheat ears.  The spread decreases as you move from left to right.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A short, vertical die scratch can be found south of the N of IN.  Short, vertical die scratches can be found to the left of the upper and lower W in WE.  A small die gouge can be found to the left of the lower 7.  Reverse:  A small die gouge (dot) can be found above the right side of the 1st T in STATES.  Two small die gouges can be found above the ES in STATES.

Description:  A strong Class II spread towards the center shows on EPU, the dots, and both wheat ears and stems.  The spread decreases slightly as you move from left to right.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  None significant.  Reverse:  A short, strong, vertical die gouge can be found to the right of the center of the E in EPU.

Description:  A close Class II spread towards the center shows on EPU, the dots, and both upper wheat ears.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die scratch runs from SW to NE on the shoulder above the designer’s initials.  Reverse:  A die scratch runs from north to south to the left of the L in PLURIBUS.

Description:  Moderate extra thickness shows on the date, LIBERTY, and IGWT.  Some separation lines from a spread towards the center show on IGWT.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A short, vertical die gouge can be found to the left of the bottom of the R in TRUST.  Reverse:  A short, diagonal die scratch can be found to the right of the bottom of the E in EPU.  A die gouge can be found inside the lower M in UNUM.

Description:  Moderate extra thickness shows on the date, LIBERTY, and IGWT.  Some separation lines from a spread towards the center show on IGWT.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A small die gouge can be found between the bottoms of the I and N of IN.  A short, vertical die gouge can be found to the right of the N of IN.  Two die scratches run from WNW to ESE near the bottom of the back of the bust.  Reverse:  None significant.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A heavy die scratch runs from SW to NE between the lower T and E of UNITED.  A small die gouge can be found above the O in GOD.  Reverse:  A short die gouge can be found above the right side of the B in BAY.

Description:  Doubling shows on the underside of Washington’s earlobe.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A small die gouge touches the top of the 1st T in TRUST.  A short, vertical die gouge can be found inside the lower D in DOLLAR.  Reverse:  A small die gouge (dot) can be found inside the zero in 1803.  A small die gouge (dot) can be found to the right of the M in UNUM.

2003-P 25¢ AR WDDO-001

Description:  Doubling shows on the underside of Washington’s earlobe.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A short, vertical die gouge can be found between the tops of the U and A in QUARTER.  A small die gouge (dot) can be found just above the right side of the P mint mark.  Reverse:  A die gouge can be found at the top of the 2nd U in UNUM.

Description:  Doubling shows on the lower left side of the 7th Memorial column to the right of the statue’s legs.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A small die gouge can be found on Lincoln’s cheek to the left of the bottom of the nose.  Reverse:  A horizontal die scratch can be found in the upper 3rd bay.  Horizontal die scratches can be found in the upper 6th bay.  A small die gouge can be found to the left of the lower T in CENT.

2007 1¢ WDDR-009

Description:  Doubling shows on the central left side of the 7th Memorial column.  A partial extra knee can be found just above the statue’s left knee.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A small die gouge (dot) can be found above and between the T and Y of LIBERTY.  Reverse:  A small die gouge can be found inside the lower E of CENT.  A die scratch runs from SW to NE in the lower 1st Memorial bay.

1943 1¢ WDDO-041

Description:  A strong extra eyelid can be found below the normal eyelid.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die clash marks protrudes from the lower bowtie.  Reverse:  A die crack runs north from the top left of the O in ONE to the 1st U in PLURIBUS.  Doubled clash marks can be found between the lower C and E of CENT.  Doubled clash marks can be found above the left wheat stem.  A die crack runs SE from the lower E in STATES through the lower right wheat ear and out to the rim.  Die chips run down the right side of the T in CENT.

1963 1¢ Pr WDDR-027

Description:  A Class II spread towards the center shows on USA decreasing in spread from left to right.  Slight doubling also shows on the tops of the letters of PLURIBUS and the bottoms of the letters in ONE.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  None significant.  Reverse:  A short die gouge can be found to the left of the upper O in ONE.  A short die gouge can be found to the right of the upper T in CENT.  Several die scratches run from WNW to ESE through the 8th, 9th, and 10th Memorial bays.

1964-D 1¢ WDDR-043

Description:  A strong Class II spread towards the center shows on USA, ONE CENT, FG, and the sides of both Memorial bases.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  A die gouge can be found inside the 6.  Reverse:  A die gouge can be found in the lower 3rd Memorial bay.  A die scratch runs east from the top of the T in CENT.

Description:  A CW spread shows an extra horizontal bar of the 2 in the date above the normal horizontal bar.

Die Markers:  Obverse:  Two light parallel die scratches run NNE from the top of the T in LIBERTY.  A die gouge (dot) can be found north of the 7 in the date.  Reverse:  EDS.  A short die scratch runs from SSW to NNE on the right base of the Memorial below the 11th bay.

Description:  Doubling can be found below log ends #8 and #9, and slightly under log end #7.
